Check it, most places that have music in their establishments are basically married to the fact that they need people in their spot to keep it running. If you can pull people in to a venue to see your band, you can always find a gig for yourself. Say you’re a new artist who’s looking to break into your scene. Find a small club that you can convince your friends to come to and look up who to get in contact with about booking. Start a conversation with that booking contact and mention that you’re looking for any open slot available with at least 3 weeks of promo time and commit to pulling in a set number of people during your slot. I’d start with 20 but depending on where you’re looking to rock, it could be more or less. If the contact says no, thank them for their time and get back to them at a later date with a new plan. If they say yes, do the show however possible, get a cut off the door (however large or small, just get some of that $) and promote as hard as you can. Repeat this process 2 or 3 times and you’ll basically teach yourself the ins and outs of booking gigs on a small level. When you’re ready for the next step, increase the number of people you say your band can draw, ask for a time slot thats closer to the weekend, and repeat! DON’T FORGET THIS LAST POINT…..ITS SO IMPORTANT THAT YOU GO TO OTHER PEOPLE’S SHOWS!!!!!! BE IN THE SCENE!! SUPPORT YOUR HOMIES!!!!! HELP THEM FIND GIGS!!!! THEY’LL SUPPORT YOU BACK!!!!"

So yesterday I had a crazy productive meeting with my homie Jae Breezy from back in high school. We had never done work together, but this man is making moves and we're sort of joining aliances. Not to bring too much hype to the table cuz there is way more where this came from, but the man is writing for Chris Brown on his new project, as well as a few artists you guys definitely know of. Lunch with the fam.

So my moms and my little sister just got back from Florida. My moms was gone for about 2 weeks and I hadn't seen my little sister in over a month.

Its crazy how something as simple as eating a sandwich and speaking with your family while sitting at the table are so essential for life. Didn't fully acknowledge it, but I missed them.

Calling out to the Heavens

God, I am sorry. But I am struggling with Love right now. There is someone in my life and you know who they are that just seems to be more and more of a disadvantage to me. I know we are supposed to love everyone - even our enemies; but I am being pushed more and more to my boiling point.

I ask you for strength. And I ask you for patience.

I am holding my tongue so much right now. This person has beat and battered me too many times and I have sat and allowed it. I have to be in contact with them for reasons that you know. But you know Lord how much stupidity affects me, and I can't help but feel like this person gets more immensely stupid every day.

They never used to be like this. Things weren't this way at first. My God why have things changed? I am fighting and resisting a lot right now. My only time of peace seems to be away from the person, yet I cannot get rid of them due to creation.

The thing that makes it worse is when it seems the relationship between I and they seems to be getting better and progressing - this person goes right back to making me feel uncomfortable and worth anything in their presence.

Why my Lord? Why? I want to love. Please show me how. Please lead me to Love.

Lifeteen Open Mic

This is kinda old, but whatever - lol. I just got the pics now. Hosted this open mic with lifeteen in June.
Afterwards we went to Uno's. It was me, my man's Jay, TJ, Sarina, Jasmine, Chris Lee and a few others.

Can't wait to chill with the Lifeteen family again in this coming year. Been out of the loop over the summer.
