Suffering

So I was speaking to someone a little earlier and she made this comment . . .

"I just don't want my daughter to suffer"

I responded

"That's how every parent feels, but its unreasonable. Life is struggle. It is pain and suffering... But all for a purpose. The hurts are meant for learning and are all something we need to go through to get to the other side. Just keep the vision of the good and teach your child how to deal, as well as always being there for their support and guidance."

Meeting at the Arch Diocese - 2010

This is being posted a few weeks late, but I had to let you guys know of this. . .

So we got invited to the Arch Diocese of New York City for the Catholic church due to Arch Bishop Dolan asking for there to be a focus in young adult ministry.

Sister, Tejon, and myself went out and heard what young adults are doing all over New York and what they felt young adults where looking for in growing in their faith. sister and I also got a chance to present and there were 2 main points made, not only by us but also by many others that night and that's - EVANGELIZATION!!! as well as a NEED for a MEDIA ALTERNATIVE.

Random last thought - But the cookies where AMAZING at the meeting. lol. - Especially the Peanut Butter ones. #word

Aspirations...

My artistry is an extension of my life. Through my various artistic and entrepreneurial ventures, as well as having active work in the community I just want to be a symbol. I want to be remembered and leave a legacy that encouraged people to educate themselves and achieve a higher level of understanding, but most importantly practice self-sacrificial and service giving love.

My music in itself represents me. It was my first love. It is my inner thoughts, pains, perceptions of life, and just verbal expression of my lifestyle that I just hope people can relate to and/or feel inspired to strive for more. - To not feel stuck in the situations they are in and make change in their own lives so that it may trickle down and further affect their families, communities, and ultimately society as a whole.

My musical style though is kind of hard to pin-point. It's definitely Hip Hop. I have a really urban background and sound, but I like to look at the overall image and driving point as soul music. But to further extend - simply - I'm an artist, so I consistently like to play around with styles... push on boundaries and get really experimental. So I guess - Hip Hop/Experimental/Soul could be my classified genre. lol
