Sorry, I have to present this each week. This weeks episode of wolverine and the x-men featured the hulk.
I think it is really interesting where they are taking this new series of the X-Men, and they really are staying true to a lot of the original comic story-lines. This show started with Wolverine running into issues with the MRD, and then lead to a huge discovery that I know is going to come back later on in the series. I don't want to say too much about it except for me watching the X-men and just being into super-hero's and comics really stimulates my mind and inspires me to do more in the world. . . Sometimes I just want to be super.

Love at its prime
We are told to go with our gut instincts. Which I believe we all should do, however . . .

Finding the right person
Everyone seeks love. Everyone feels a longing to have a good life-long companion, but there is something that most do not realize. They say that dating is hard and they just can't find "the right person". But I would like to ask . . . What is the right person? Does that mean someone that you connect with, and shared all of your same passions in life?
If that is your definition, then let me help you to observe that when you see married couples don't they seem like two opposite sides of the spectrum? Have you observed your own parents?
I know that in this day and age, a lot of people have parents that are not even together. Do you wonder why that is? Well, first it is our societies glorification of sex, and self centeredness. But it is also the fact that in order to find the person of your dreams you must first be really sure of yourself, and in a way that is mental, spiritual, and you must be at a point where you know what you want out of life in the most part. To add to that, you should be willing to give without asking when you find a partner. Now I'm not saying that you have to be a zombie who takes BS from anyone because you want companionship, but I am saying that in a healthy and lasting relationship you have two people who are at this level of thought already. They may not exactly BE where they want to be spiritually, financially, or anything but they know which direction they are headed and are determined to get there.
What I'm trying to say is that in actuality . . .
It's not about FINDING the right person.
It's about BECOMING the right person.

PS: If you are in a relationship that is going down the drain, take this into consideration, and share with your partner. Maybe it will help you pull things through a bit.

Re-kindle your marriage
I thought this would be some good advice to people. Got led to it through the movie fireproof I spoke about in an earlier post. I hope this can help some people out. This is directly from the website at www.fireproofmymarriage.com
Facing the Eight Challenges of the Empty Nest Years In the second half of marriage, couples face the challenge to reinvent their marriage, to make mid-course adjustments, and to reconnect with one another in a more meaningful way. From our work in marriage education over the years and based on our national survey, we believe the following eight challenges describe the areas where healthy long-term marriages are investing their energies.
CHALLENGE 1: Let go of past marital disappointments, forgive each other, and commit to making the rest of your marriage the best.
Giving up lost dreams and dealing with each other's imperfections is a positive step toward forgiving past hurts, and moving on in your marriage. Holding on to marital grudges and disappointments will prevent you from developing a new, more loving marriage.
CHALLENGE 2: Create a marriage that is partner-focused, rather than child-focused. In the second half, the dynamics of the relationship change. Without children at home, you have the opportunity to refocus and redefine your marriage. Marriage in the second half can be more personal and more fulfilling as you focus on the couple relationship and not on children.
CHALLENGE 3: Maintain an effective communication system that allows you to express your deepest feelings, joys, and concerns. Mid-life is a time when it is vitally important to develop interpersonal competence -- the ability to converse on a more personal level by sharing your deepest feelings, joys, and concerns. Successful second half couples are able to find a proper balance between intimacy and autonomy.
CHALLENGE 4: Use anger and conflict in a creative way to build your relationship. A healthy marriage is a safe place to resolve honest conflict and process anger. Actually, both love and anger can be positive forces in a marriage, but you must process your anger in an appropriate way that allows you to express your concerns in the context of a loving relationship.
CHALLENGE 5: Build a deeper friendship and enjoy your spouse. Friendship and fun in marriage--especially in the second half--is serious business! One advantage of a long-term marriage is being more familiar and comfortable with each other. We can relax and enjoy each other and develop a deeper couple friendship.
CHALLENGE 6: Renew romance and restore a pleasurable sexual relationship. Our survey results suggest that sexual satisfaction increases rather than decreases with number of years married, but it is important for couples to protect their privacy, cherish their love relationship, and renew romance while acknowledging the inevitable changes in our bodies. The quality of our love life is not so much a matter of performance as it is a function of the quality of the relationship.
CHALLENGE 7: Adjust to changing roles with aging parents and adult children. Releasing children into adulthood and reconnecting with them on an adult level can be challenging. At the same time you need to balance relationships with your own aging parents. Realizing and accepting what is realistic in your own situation is important. Then choose to forge better relationships with those loved ones on both sides of the generational seesaw.
CHALLENGE 8: Evaluate where you are on your spiritual pilgrimage, grow closer to each other and to God, and together serve others. Our faith in God should make a difference in the quality of our marriage -- especially in the second half. The relationship of the husband and the wife to God is tested and validated in their relationship to each other. Evaluate where you are on your own spiritual pilgrimage and seek to develop spiritual intimacy with each other and with God. Then together serve others.

A breath of fresh air
Feeling refreshed. . . However, I do not want anyone to feel excluded by reading this post.
Sorry I haven't posted to you guys all weekend, but I haven't been able to get to a computer for an extended period of time. However, I would like to fill you in. So let's start with saturday. We had a T.Dub video shoot for "She's so hot!" The turnout was pretty good, and I'm entering the editing process as we speak. I also had a lot of family time this weekend and have done a lot of self-reflection. And although you guys know me to be a pretty spiritual person, I have to confess that for a while I took church out of the center of my life. I reached a point where I was so hungry to expose my art, and get recognized for my work that I lost focus of what is important and that really had me stressed. Although I was not blatantly being disrespectful to anyone, or even doing anything that would be directly harmful to anyone else . . . I was still harming myself. I never stopped praying my morning prayer which consists of me asking God to cleanse me of myself, and remove all of my human flaws so that he may fill me with all of his own perfect words, thoughts, aspirations, movements, and actions. I also never stopped giving thanks for the things I have. So although I never became a "bad" person, I wasn't at peace the way I feel now.
The change is for the past few weeks I have started to attend sunday mass again with my family(wife and kid). This sunday I think was the turn around though. The reason being is I actually was more actively involved with my church life this week like I hadn't been in a long time. After mass a sister from my local church named Sister Mary Eileen invited my family and I to stay around and watch this Christian inspired movie named, "Fireproof". The movie presents a couple in the midst of ending their marriage in a terrible divorce (Not sure if I have posed this earlier, but I believe divorce is always wrong as an act. The people are not evil, but have indeed done an incredible harm to themselves and those around the marriage). Anyway, the movie proceeds to show how "God" came into their lives and healed their love - Teaching them what love truly is.
Now, although I am Roman Catholic I do not want any human being to feel like we can't relate here. We are still connected. I believe some form of organized religion is essential for ultimate peace in life. The mere thought of an after-life gives your life more purpose, and can empower you into feeling better about your living circumstances. If you are muslim, buddist, or have any form of a religious classification I know that if you are true to your faith, whatever it may be - you feel more secure in your life.
And to the atheists out there. You guys are not alone as well! I would love to see your beliefs and speak upon what it is that makes you go on in life. I believe it would be an interesting conversation and we both can take in some things from it. All I know is that being fully commited and into my faith again has given me a great sense of peace. And no man should be deprived of that - No matter what will give them that satisfaction.

Gambit on the new X-Men
This episode started a little slow for me. Gambit was one of my favorite characters of the X-Men and I don't necessarily like how he was portrayed here, but it was cool. This is still the beginning of this X-Men cartoon. I will continue to watch. I still like what they're doing overall. The ending was a classic Wolverine move in this episode which really got me laughing hard. The character of Wolverine I believe has always been written so well. I can't wait for that movie.
This was actually an episode I originally missed that's why I'm blogging about it so late but thank god for youtube. I tried to watch directly from the website and it was messing up for some reason. I missed it friday for an audition at NYU to be in thier talent show. Will have details about that soon.

I got this joke fowarded to my phone and thought it was pretty hilarious. So along with sharing it with everyone on my phone. I'm going to share it with you guys too. All I can say to warn you is excuse my French - lol
Ok so . . .
"1st it was James Brown, then Bobby Brown, now Chris Brown. Beware of the BBB's!!! (Brown beating bitches)"
Pretty clever I thought. What made it better is when I sent it to a friend of mine named Davey, I forgot what his last name was and he texts me back - "My last name is Brown." I bursted out with laughter upon the arrival of that text due to the fact that I forgot his name is David Brown. lol.
All I could do was respond . . . Try not to continue on with the legacy. lmao

Feel-X Valentine's 2009
Today was Valentines day and I had a great time with my wife to be and my son. I had to turn off my phone so I could ignore all of the people trying to contact me and do business. Today was a day for my family. We chilled out and spoke like we used to speak in the beginning of our relationship. We also went out to this great Thai food Restaurant up here in the Bronx named "Honey's Thai Pavillion". We both enjoyed some Salmon Fillet, and Fried Banana for dessert. All in all it was a relaxing day, and more so a cleansing of my mind and spirit due to the fact that I cut off all work today.

PACE - Live, Laugh, Love showcase
With performances from people like Shihan the poet, and R&B soul singer Raheem DeVaughn this show was great! There were also a few other poets, and singers who performed like Scryl, and Kat a lot of things came out of it. I got a lot of inspiration. One quote from someone who performed that I'm going to add to my book of quotes is "Would you still dream if no one inspired you?"
With my own cause I feel more encouraged to do what I do after hearing something like that. The highlight however would have to be on the train ride back when me and my good friend and business associate Tejon got farted on by some Asian guy. It was a long story and honestly I wanted to fight. lol. I can laugh about it now, but it really isn't a laughing matter when your lungs are getting polluted. I wanted to get a picture of the guy on my phone so I could post and tell you who you should watch out for him the next time you ride the 6 train but before I even thought of the idea he left.
Anyway it was a crazy day. Inspirational, yet still the everyday BS. I guess that's just life . . . We all live it. The question is, what will we make of it?

Another Good Obama speech
This guy just continues to not crumble under the pressure and speak so diligently. His stimulus package I feel is genius and the stupid senate wants to play political games instead of deciding upon what will be best for the average american citizen. Here's a quick quote from Obama about his self-reflection. "I ask myself; did I work as hard as I could, did I seek out the best possible advice, did I stay focused on the people who sent me to washington, and if something and I make a mistake am I open-minded enough to admit it and then move on and try something else that works." All I can say about that is thanks Obama I now have something to add to my daily prayers so that I can be the epitemy of what was said in that qoute. Anyway, I'm not going to say much about it because I believe if you read this link it tells the story pretty well. http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090210/pl_politico/18676

Grammy's '09
So I'm a day late, woop-di-doo! lol But in my opinion, the Grammy's sucked this year! The best performance was probably the live band "Swagga' Like us" Performance, however it wasn't even that great. I was honestly expecting something better. However, as an artist I do respect MIA's hunger to perform even on her baby's due date. However, I feel what she was wearing will be embarrassing to her child one day. It's cool that your pregnant and at the Grammy's, but at least dress like a respectable mother please. Don't disrespect your child by letting everything hang all out. Sorry, but that's my opinion. I do like MIA's music though. Even before the hype when I found her on myspace some time ago.
I think an inspirational part of the night(for those of you who saw. Can't find this part on YouTube) was when the guy gave the "Yes We Can" speech, calling on Barack Obama to make a new seat in his cabinet as Secretary of the Arts. The way the guy broke down the necessity of arts in our children's education is something I highly agree with. If you have the patience, try and look it up online. Honestly, to me it was the best part of the night.

The Police Museum
Ok, so this past friday I went to the police museum downtown because my little sister had to do this project for school. It was pretty informative and I learned a lot of things that I did not know at all before. Especially when I saw how many terrorist attacks there has been even since 9-11 and we don't know much about. Some of the statistics about crime and things in the city were kind of crazy too.
But Check this out. . . When my mother sent me to the museum she gave me the wrong address. Luckily we were in the right area and when we asked somebody was able to give us complete directions to the place. Anyway, so we got there and it turns out that the power is out! I was tight because this was the last day we could be able to get there so she can do her project. So we waited to see if they could get the power on quickly so she can go to the second and third floors since that was were the bulk of the content would be at. Then we find that the problem couldn't be fixed by them and they had to wait for ConEd to get there. Luckily the lady who ran the head of the education department in the building was able to escort us upstairs so we can get what we needed done.
Check out the old NYPD logo.
But anyway, all in all it was a good day. Very educational and informative. I actually got a few artistic concepts from the day before I went to work. Although there is a great deal of crooked cops and cops who take advantage of their power, the overall concepts of everything that the police force does is amazing.
So with that said, I leave you with this last quote I saw posted at the museum . . . "A nation's best defence is an educated citizenship."
